Kishor and Manoj Vhatkar are sons of legendary Tabla maker Shri. Haridas R. Vhatkar from India. Following the footsteps of their father, Kishor and Manoj have learnt & mastered the art of making World class leather musical instruments such as Tabla, Pakhwaj, Dholki, Dholak, Djembe, Madal, Duff, Chanda, Khanjiri, Khol and South Indian style Mridangam.
Kishor Vhatkar receives prestigious “Sangeet Natak Academy” National Award
Kishor Vhatkar received the prestigious “Sangeet Natak Academy – Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar” on 15th February 2023 at New Delhi from honourable President of India Droupadi Murmu. Kishor became the first recipient of the award in India for his exceptional contribution to the art of Tabla making.
